What is a Professional Engineering License? A Professional Engineering license is an identification card that shows an individual’s adherence to certain quality standards related to engineering. The exams for the Professional engineering license vary from one province to another. The PPE test consists of five parts including, Data Collection Part 1, Data Collection Part 2, Reference Materials, Design Review, and Design Implementation. This exam is considered to be tougher than the MSE and the ASE exams. This is because the knowledge about engineering principles that is gained from the PPE is considered to be more valuable than that gained from other exams. The PPE test is offered in two formats, on site and online. Many engineering firms prefer that their applicants to take the online exam to ensure they are well-prepared for the job.
