In order to be a LMFT, you have to pass the CTI exams which is also known as the Marriage and Family Therapist Certification Exam. The exam is only one hour long but still has to be completed in a stipulated period of time. To be able to pass the examination you will need some training. After the training come the examination and it is a very tough exam. It is also one of the most important certifications that you will ever get in your career. When you are ready to become a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist then you will have to take a one hour CTI exam and then sit for the licensing exam.

Once your application is accepted then you would have another thirty days to submit the payment for the fee that you would have to pay for the examination and various other documents that you would need. After you submit the money the next process will be to take an actual exam and get your certificate. Once you pass the exam then you can already apply for a license.
