Harvard Software Engineering is an online extension of Harvard University. It started enrolling new students in Fall 2021, offering Bachelor’s degrees in Computer Science/Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, and Software Development. The total cost of the course does not include any necessary lab fees unless you select a laboratory-based course. On average, you will spend about three hundred dollars for all the required books, lab fees, computer equipment, tutorial and reference materials, and other miscellaneous items. For students seeking a safety professional certification, it costs an additional four hundred dollars for the exam fee plus the lab fee. As you can see, even with this certification, the cost is significantly higher than taking the exam on one of the many alternate Harvard courses.
Even though the costs can be high, getting a Harvard Software Engineering Certificate is well worth it because it demonstrates to potential employers that you possess the skills employers are looking for. In addition, having the certification makes you more marketable as a junior professional or as a graduate engineer. Getting the certification in addition to the app fee and the application fee means that you will have the financial resources to pay for both at the same time.
Another option available to those seeking certification is the Master of Science in Engineering Technology (MSE) program. This program allows its candidates to earn two years of specialized training in areas such as software design, testing, quality assurance and diagnostic methods. Students must also complete a project in their field of choice before they can take the exam for their certification. In some cases, students earn both the app fee and the examination for their MSE certification. It takes two years to complete this two-year program. Once you have successfully completed your course work and passed the examination, you will be issued a Master of Science in Engineering Technology (MSE) credential.
There is another alternative available to those wishing to get their hands on the certification. This option is called the Harvard University Masters in Software Engineering (MSE) program. Unlike the app fee and the application fee, this certification does not require a separate exam fee. Instead, students must first enroll in the program in order to apply for a certificate. Once accepted into the program, students can complete their courses at their leisure and use the application fee and the exam fee at the time of graduation to pay for their books, travel expenses and living expenses while attending classes at the university.
