Overview NCC Certified Students‚ The NCC Certified School Counselors This study was designed as a longitudinal, component-based evaluation of NCC certification in the secondary school education field. The findings revealed the importance of school counselors within the school learning environment towards NCC certification students, while also identifying the demographic and educational differences between school counselors and general education students. Each participating school was paid an average of $7.10 for each student. Because data for this study were collected through a combination of the original source interviews and focus groups, the study was conducted in three months (two face-to-face and three in-person) with two focus groups, meeting each school’s individual needs while also creating a detailed assessment plan for building knowledge of school counselors’ training and the performance of the school’s school readiness process. Each school at the time of the study included an average of 20 teachers each working with 10 counselors. Schools were evaluated for their ability to pass the exams.
