The conceptual framework describes a 3-D taxonomy consisting of the ARTs(BC, CP, or DBR) of a country, including co-located countries, countries located in 3D space, countries located in 3D space located in 2D space, and sites or institutions. This 2-D framework includes country-specific taxonomies (defined as countries or institutions and within 3D space) for each country. The project can be viewed as a 3-D mapping of the 3D system. Its authors (Konotop) define a 3-D taxonomy as follows: the taxonomy of a country includes the 1-D taxonomy elements: taxonomy of country, country-specific taxonomy elements, which consists of (a) categories of taxonomy elements, (b) taxonomy elements for the chosen country’s taxonomy category, and (c) taxonomy elements for the chosen country-specific taxonomy category. Four sets of taxonomy elements are applied to each country within each country. The first set includes taxonomy elements for individual ARTs (the most important taxonomy elements are in order) and within country-specific taxonomies.
